Butterflies

2 Corinthians 5:17 "For if a man belongs to Christ, he is a new person. The old life is gone. New life has begun."

Sweetheart and I took next to youngest grandson to the Cockrell Butterfly Center in Houston. To say that it was a magical adventure would only touch the edge of the fantastic things in store for you there. To watch a child marvel over the beauty of butterflies in flight, to see their eyes grow big when tiny winged creatures alight just inches from their gaze, to hear them whisper excitedly with each new discovery is humbling in it's simplicity. Every once in a while we need to see the world through the eyes of a child.

As I watched these fragile yet strong beyond measure beauties struggling out of cocoons and bursting forth into soaring flight patterns above my head, I could feel an overwhelming sense of companionship with them. When we have spent time feeling ugly and ungainly in our walk through this life, there is joy beyond measure with wrapping up tight into the comforting arms of Christ. His mercy and grace heal us, leaving us to spread our wings in freedom. Spend time showing the world how Christ has turned YOU into more than you ever dreamed you could be.

Dearest Adonai, You alone are the creator of all that is magical and beautiful in this life. Let us come to you for safety and solace. Teach us not to seek the dark colors of the world. Show us that only through You can we become all that You would have us be. Let us bring joy to those around us by walking in Your Words today. In the name of Christ Jesus, Amen
