Generation to Generation

Psalm 100:5 "For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and His faithfulness continues to each generation."

As I continue to learn, my Father always has a plan. What seems like a dark and endless tunnel can actually be a gateway to an even greater blessing. Although I should know better by now, I am continually surprised by His blessings and mercy to me even when I seem broken beyond repair.....again.

In the chaos of the moments of Thanksgiving preparation, I found peace. Time spent having coffee with a dear friend. Sharing her pride at a prodigal daughter returned to God's grace. Watching in wonder as one of my all grown up little girls prepared a feast for family for the first time. Laughter in a freezing cold parking lot as my son joined us for shopping at midnight. Waking up to the giggles of a precious granddaughter starting her day. The pounding on the stairs of an excited grandson running to tell me of his latest adventure. Watching everyone sneak bites of a perfectly smoked turkey before it ever made it to the table.

God is so good. God loves us. God is always faithful. It is that simple. Even when we try to make it more complicated. He loved our parents, He loves us, He loves our children and grandchildren. His forgiveness is never ending. His Grace covers all sins. He never stops giving us another chance. We are NEVER, EVER broken beyond repair.

Dearest Adonai, Father of all that is right and good, we are blessed to be in the shadow of Your Unfailing Love. We know that You are there with us through the tears, the smiles, the grief, the joy. You have shed those same tears, laughed those same laughs, felt the same heartaches, and gazed at the majesty of Your creations. Thank You so much for another day, another beginning, another generation to carry on Your work. Please bless those who are far from home. Give comfort to those whose lives are torn by poverty, war, disease, famine, or loss. Bring peace to those who are inconsolable. We know that You and You alone, are the Light for all the dark places. Help us to remember that we are a family of believers. Remind us to watch after our brothers and sisters, especially those who have no one else to spend happy moments with. In the name of our Brother, Christ Jesus, Amen
