Romans 8:5 "Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires."
While I sometimes struggle with being a very small part of a very large church, there are events that occur that make me ever so glad that we attend Fellowship of the Woodlands Church. This weekend Pastor Kerry will be interviewing Nick Vujicic live at all four services. If you have never seen or heard of Nick, please find time to watch online if you don't live near here. The interview will also be available in a podcast a few days after the service.
Nick Vujicic was born without arms or legs. There are no medical answers for why. If she was anything like me I am sure that his mother agonized over and over in her head, going back over every minute of her pregnancy in her head. But God does things for His own reasons and in His own timing as we see in John 9. "As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents that he was born blind?" "Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him."
Nick is a powerful speaker who will make you realize that your life is yours because God wanted you to have it. Your handicaps, such as they are, were placed in your life by your Father in Heaven because He has a purpose for YOU!
Dearest Father God, we come before You this morning to gather up the gifts that You have laid out before us. Remind us daily that You know what is best for us. Show us that no one else is in charge of our lives but You. Let us give our lives to You so that we might live more fully. Thank You also for the men and women of the armed forces as we celebrate Armed Forces Day! Remind us daily that these men and women are behind our freedom! In the name of Christ Jesus, Amen
